It all depends on what you are looking for. To give you an idea basically there are struts that you can adjust and ones that you cannot. If you want a good close to stock replacement I would go with the KYB GR2's and H&R's. It's not an aggressive drop but MUCH better compared to stock and it's a good balance between comfort and handling. Another popular suspension here and on the org is the Eibachs with the Tokico Illuminas(these ones are adjustable). It all comes down to what you are looking for really, some people just hate the wheel gap, others want better handling. The choice is ultimately yours.

If you're not gonna drop it(or drop it much), I'd go with Tokico blues. I've heard mixed things about KYB, on Maximas and other cars which makes me stay away from them.

If you're going to go with a more agressive drop or just want adjustable shocks go with Tokico Illuminas.

Even with the blues I heard some people complain about it being too soft?

If your intention is to lower the car, spend the $$$ and go D2's or Tein SS

That's another option. Coilovers must be nice, and can't be beat for handling but you can't really use them in winter or they get ruined, no?

the blues are stock oem... so they are neither softer nor harsher, they are identical

Aren't the gr2's considered stock replacements as well?

why not. i used coilovers all year round without problems. when i had my integra, i had a set of h&r springs with koni sport (yellow) shocks for 2 years without problems. after that, i had a set of tein ss for another 2 years also without problems. if you make sure to clean the salt off on a regular basis and spray some anti-rust on before winter, you should be ok.

During winter time though residential streets are the last ones to be cleaned. So, when you are that low do you plough through when you drive? lol

Right you are. I'm only lowered 1.7" and I had enough plowing issues, and this was before I had my Stillen lip. My whole lower grille and my fog lights were packed with snow at the end of a drive.

If I spent $1000++ on coilovers I'd keep them out of the salty winters.

My K-Sports were ruined (well not completely) after one winter and that was even after I vigorously sprayed them with CRC. If I had them now I would definitely swap them for 4-5 months with stock combo. Tokicos are nice, handling is good enough for me, they're firm and you can adjust them any way you want. Can't really compare to KYB 'cause I've never tried them...

It's always a good idea to switch back to stock for winter and back to coilovers for the summer. Do any of you guys remove the lip for the winter?

skidz, you lowered on progress?
Minbel, you still lowered?

Megan.

I do want to switch over to progress for the same drop but stiffer springs.

Skidz I think that progress are slightly lower, though not the specs. Just from you asking me if I was on S-techs at the last firkin meet. Also do you still have that evap cannister available?
