PCV valve replacement

Post by Mclovin on Tue Jun 17, 2008 4:06 pm

Changed mine yesterday with a new nissan one. It wasn't as bad as it was discribed in .org. Needle nose pliers pulled the old one right out. It looked like it was in pretty bad condition covered with oil and all but it still rattled when u shook it, so im guessing it was still good. New one made no difference drivability wise.

Shouldn't really notice any drivability difference. Only thing it does is pull the vapourized oil away from the good oil.

Did mine a few weeks back. It was a real bitch trying to get the hose back on in that small space.
Used some fram one from Partsource or something.
Still can't get the fuel pump out.

You guys get the PCV valve from the nissan dealer? , i got one and i swear when i look at the one thats on the car the top is attachment is horizontal, but on the new one the attachment where the hose goes is vertical. Ive been assured over a million times that its the right part, sworn by all the mechanics, so maybe im just looking at the wrong thing. Im lookin at the intake right passed the TB , can someone help, maybe a picture? please? needa do this!

its different on diff gens, if ur looking for a 5th gen then its in the bottom left side of the throttle body. If u locate the < U > shape hose in that area, then u found ur pcv. I can also take a picture if u specify which gen.
