2009 Maxima Photos Leaked!
While there's a part of me that feels bad we didn't get a a more grand debut for our newest Maxima, at least it wasn't anti-climactic once the first glimpse was available. I think it looks fantastic!

It is a good looking car, though I think Nissan is resting a little too much on it's past G35 success. The new altima now the new maxima .... they are really getting their money's worth on the stencil they bought. Granted it is a nice stencil. Also when I said G35 success I really meant the savior of Infinity.

I think what a lot of Max owners/enthusiasts have to keep in mind is that the Maxima is their flagship sedan, and that means it has to stand apart from the 'sportier' Altima. The Max of today is aimed at guys my age to be honest. You can see that in the 6th gen - they just went a bit too far. The 7th gen corrects some of the 'bloat', and I think they did it nicely. People just gotta accept Nissan's position.
Their sports car is the 350.
Their 20 something performance car is the Altima.
Their 'movin on up/I have some job security' 30 something car is the Maxima.
That's my take on it anyway.
The only thing I find a bit odd is the headlights. Definitely original, but odd.

Re: 2009 Maxima Photos Leaked!
I have mixed emotions about the look, i guess all the new flagship cars looks similar to me, take the new accord, lexus, camry, and now the max, they all seem too similar to each other... i would love to drive it, have they changed the engine at all > or stuck with the winning formula ?

I have to agree with all of this. Well said!

Geez, it looks almost like an Accord from the front. I actually think the 6th gen looks better. I do like how they kept the 6th gen rear end, but the side profile looks horrible. The headlights are weird too!

Re: 2009 Maxima Photos Leaked!
Gosh darn it, it's a nice-looking car overall, especially the interior, but what a messed up front end!
It reminds me of the late 1990s Buick Riviera where the snout is way to big and the headlights are too small. I am disappointed to start, but I will reserve full judgement once I see it in person because this reminds me of the controversy that the 5th gen rear end caused back in late 1999. I hated it then, still kind of do now, but look at me, I'm a 5.5 gen owner....
The bright sides are that the "4dsc" moniker is back just like during the 3rd gen days, the red stitching on the leather seats are super-cool, the heated steering wheel stays, and I'm sure there will be a nice array of standard features that will separate it from the Altima.

So when do you think they will start selling the 4dsc stickers? I definitely want a couple of those.

+1 I totally agree and hence I put a pause on all my modifications of 4th GEN (my Second Love) till I buy 2009 Max. Can't wait for it to release in US and I am going there to get it.

Re: 2009 Maxima Photos Leaked!
Every gen's getting more disappointing as they come out. IMO, 4th and 5th gen's look the best... 6th is too bubblicious for me, and 7th..... cccc.... may as well get the new Accord which is a knock-off of a BMW... Not original at all... Shame...
