Mofo's got into my car last night

Post by knight_yyz on Sun Feb 22, 2009 10:58 am

I am so pissed right now. Neighbor knocked on my door this morning and said my back door of the car was open. I went out yesterday while it was snowing to do a few things. Got back around 6 or so and didn't lock the doors. They usually lock themselves after about 5 minutes. Guess some neighborhood kids were running around looking for unlocked doors and found my car. It was ransacked, but no damage. Emptied the glove boxes and found my i-pod. Guess I should count myself lucky that the nav is still there. Still pisses me off though. What I don't get is how they got into the car without leaving footprints in the snow. There is barely an inch of snow in the driveway. Must have hit me 2 minutes after I got home.

just found out that they also took my lugnut key. Which means I can get my winter tires off, but won't be able to get my summers on unless I buy a new set of lugs. I'll have to vicegrip these ones off but at least they are sticking out far enough to get at them. Fucking little peckers.

Also very sorry to hear about the car being ram sacked Ray, you are indeed very fortunate that it was just the glove box that got emptied out and some of your odds and ends that got taken. As for no foot prints in the snow, I was out around 2:00 am to pickup my son and it was pretty windy out and the temp. had dropped quit a bit so the fresh snow was quit granular, I was only out for about 10 mins and my foot prints down my walk way and to the car had been completely filled in just like I had never even been out.

You might want to keep an eye on the car once summers are on..
They might come back to try the key on your summer wheels..

Well they'll have a hard time with that. Since I have no way of putting those lugs back on when I put my summers on I will have a new set of lugs. I just found out the idiots probably didn't even get a working Ipod. They were in such a hurry they just yanked the damn thing right off of the cable interface. When I plugged my new ipod into the cable it won't stay on. so I need a new cable too.

I know you'll need a new set of lugnuts, but them sto0pid kids don't.. so they might just try with your original lugnut..

I'll be getting something completely different, but ya, if they don't know how to unhook an I-pod i want to see them try to jack my car and steal all the wheels.

I was on the NYC Nissan site and reading about one of the guys had his driver side window broken and all they were after was to use the hood latch as they uninstalled his Carbon Fibre Hood and took nothing else

You're not alone Ray. I just chased 4 guys out of my driveway. The Maxima was locked, but I left the minivan open. Fortunately I heard them as soon as they opened the van door, and I came flying out the front door of my house with a 4 foot metal rod.

Guess I'll be up all night. F'n great. Evil or Very Mad

Fcuk. I had my new resonator and wideband o2 on my back seat waiting for an install tomorrow (no room in trunk). I'm lucky as hell.

This is happening a lot where I live too. There are still some people who do not lock their doors either out of habit or laziness, and it baffles me. Not that I am condoning what these punks do, but we all have to be defensive. I grew up in Scarborough, so I lock all my doors.

It may be more prevalent this week as high school and middle-school kids are off for March Break. Mr. MarkhamMax, stay vigilant, and call you local constabulary to let them know about this. G'luck.

My brother in law works for a security company and he said that if your house alarm is wireless, there is a little gizmo with a motion sesnor on it that will set the house alarm going if your car is broekn into. I'm looking into that
