I've done it again....
Well, just barely 3 months after the demise of my pearl white 4th gen SE (5 speed), I've put my money down on yet another new(er) vehicle....and yes it's a Nissan!
- it has four doors and 17 inch wheels
- it has a six speed (manual) transmission
- it'll go 0-60 in less than 7 seconds
- according to the mags, it'll pull 0.88g's while cornering before the tires give up
While I'm really enjoying my little red 200SX SE-R (now for sale - details- make me an offer), this newer car has 180,000 fewer kms, has been meticulously maintained and is selling for about $4-$5K less than what it would sell for on AutoTrader. To top it all off, the car also has had headers and slotted/cross-drilled rotors installed.
Any guesses????

Re: I've done it again....
Saw it a while back, it was a really clean looking car. Sounds like you got a really good deal.

Re: I've done it again....
Didn't Vic purchase that vehicle to rebuild it from scratch and turn it into a track car?

Nice!
I'm excited for some of the TMEC OG's who are getting new(er), fresh rides. I remember this time last year, I was car-shopping too.

...yes, it's the same one....but the guy who was going to buy Vic's 200SX race vehicle backed out of the deal and Vic's been unable to sell the 200SX........so in order to pay for a few upgrades on the 200SX, he sold me the SpecV.

....thanks, Will. Good to see that you can (finally) appreciate that a 4-cyl car might be a good way to go (and as you know, I've always be more about "go" than "show".) The truth of the matter is that the only car I've owned since 1978 that wasn't a 4-cylinder was my Maxima.

Re: I've done it again....
oooooooooops.....
Why is it that I cannot seem to get my links to pics to work properly????
....anyway, some pics of the new ride can be found here - SpecVpics - for those who might be interested
I'm not too crazy about the wheels or the painted calipers...what do you guys think????
....but at least the paint matches my hair colour....

Re: I've done it again....
I've always liked the front end of the 02-03(yours) Spec-V over the 04-06. Looks more aggressive, doesn't need any body mods.

Nice purchase Mark.
My friend's uncle has one, and he loves it.

I had the honour of sitting in the drivers seat for 5 minutes...
...at the scrapyard. I took out the gauges, blud led bulbs from the doors and some minor bulbs from the climate control unit. Sadly the chrome gauge rings were already taken before i could get to them.

WOW....at least some of the car went to a fellow TMEC'er
But you didn't take the...
clear corners
Momo pedals
tilting headrests
short shifer
Budget(LSS) intake
FSTB
Stillen RSB
Brembo rotors/KVR pads
KVR pads
new (less than 3 weeks old) exhaust - including flex-section and cat...
...or were all those things gone, too?

I was about to take the clear corners in case some one else wants to buy them from me but didn't know how much I could get them for... I'll go back tomorrow if I can and check out the rest of the things. May get the intake, the struts bar, and the RSB if I can get to it. If I remember correctly the car was sitting too low(happens when there's no wheels on the car)

Re: I've done it again....
Intake, front bumper along with the clear corners and front struts bar were all gone.
Forgot to check the headrests and the pedals.
All the rotors and pads are still there along with the exhaust and the stillen RSB.

Re: I've done it again....
Suspension is still there, I would be careful with the front struts though. Whoever took out the struts bar left the bolts off and the struts aren't in properly.

Re: I've done it again....
....if anyone's out there and sees the car, would you please grab the aluminum oil filler cap for me- (if it's still on the car, of course)...I still haven't been able to find one quite like it. I'll be more than happy to reimburse you.
Thanks in advance.

... if the cap is still there I'd be really surprised. I'm actually surprised people are still posting here in the wake of TMEC's resurrection.
