So I decided to.........
lower my Maxima!!
well yesterday I finally put my SE-Rs back and it bothered the hell out of me to see the car so high. Now I don't have much money to spent(as usual) and I don't really wanna screw up the ride quality.
So what is the preferred choice here?
CMS
Eibach
H&R
H-Tech
and where do I find these?? Please help fello TMECER or GTAer

Re: So I decided to.........
Are you going to continue to drive the car in the winter? If so, I wouldn't recommend a drastic drop. OR you can spend the money each season to get the suspension swapped.
If you decide to keep them all year round, I would advise a minimal drop. The eibachs or H&Rs. I've heard reviews that the Eibachs have a minimal drop but a high spring rate so they are considerably rough. The H&Rs are also a minimal drop but have a softer spring rate. So I guess it depends on your driving and how you want your car to respond. softer spring rate = more body roll.
The CMS(Canuck Motorsports) are relatively inexpensive compared to the eibachs and H&Rs since they are from a Canadian Company out west. But they have a slightly more agressive drop (2.2" i believe) so you may have issues if you use them in the winter. There have also been some comments from fellow tmec'ers complaining that the front breaks in nicely, but the rear stays way up leading towards a raking stance.
Guess the question is what type of ride you want? Decide/describe what features you're looking for then buy the spring to match it. Don't buy a spring just because they're cheap, you'll end up buying again and regretting spending the money.
Do it right the first time so you don't have to do it twice.

Woooo! i think this calls for a celebration haha!
i have the H&R's and ride qulity isn't bad, but it's definatly noticeable over stock, drop is ok, lower would look better but not realistic for me sinc ei dirve through the winter,
take a look on the .org theres lots of reviews of differant springs

you don't find you'er plowing the way for everyone kevin? I'm dropped almot 3.5" and I can't imagine jsut an inch higher of the ground driving through winter snow....Especially for your undercarriage.

Re: So I decided to.........
No plowing at all or underbody scrapping! But I got a 5th gen with 16" winters. Not sure the difference on a 4th gen and if they sit lower.

Re: So I decided to.........
pretty sure I can get a good price on either ebachs, stechs or h-techs. eibachs will give the best handling but they are stiff. Oh and learn a lesson from skidz88 and don't just replace the springs. gotta do the shocks or you will end up doing everything twice.

Re: So I decided to.........
Ok so after reading the BOHEAD-KB 90145 and doing more research I decided to go go either H-Techs or H&R what ever comes cheaper. I am not looking for handling believe it or not for my taste my stock springs handle well.knight_yyz wrote:pretty sure I can get a good price on either ebachs, stechs or h-techs. eibachs will give the best handling but they are stiff. Yes =1 on Shcoks and Springs together. But before I got to know you all last summer in May I changed to KYB GR2s which most of you might know. So I am guessing just doing springs will be alright.
I really want to keep my ride quality so a softer spring is what I want. Ray if you can get me good price on either on of these, it will be awesome.
Also Is any one out there willing to help me install (I'd rather pay a fellow TMECER than the guy across the street. )
Re: So I decided to.........
Congrats man, it's about time. I'm willing to help with the install if you decide to do it at home.

i'll get a price on the h-techs, I know the h&r's are impossible to find and best price I heard in canada from the distributor is like 450 a set which is outrageous.

Re: So I decided to.........
hey man, why don't you take a look on the .org for some springs, springs arn't really a wear and tear iteam, and im pretty sure i saw some H&R's up on there not to long ago
and man o man you must really not care for handling if you think the stocks are ok
wait untill you get those new springs on there, u'll love the differance and wonder why you've waited so long
good luck with the hunt
try giving JRP a call for a price, they usually have decent prices on springs
